Below is a guide to restaurants & activities on and off-site. I’ve starred the ones I think are worth checking out!

EAT + DRINK

On-Site

poolside: HANA HOU

Located beside the pool, Hana Hou is a great option for a light lunch and cocktails mid-day. Check out the menu by clicking the photo above!

all-day: CANE + CANOE

Cane & Canoe is your go-to at the hotel for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The restaurant serves Hawaiian-inspired food and has great views of the property. Don’t miss the Sunday brunch (7-11), featuring a bloody mary bar live jazz.

cocktails + dinner: THE HIDEAWAY

The Hideaway is a more casual, intimate spot, great for evening cocktails and dinner. The menu is similar to an upscale bar menu - think heavy appetizers and a few larger staples (burgers, sandwiches, and flatbreads).

Off-Site

cafe: VANA PAIA

Vana is the Hawaiian-Japanese restaurant is located in a small, garden space on the ground floor of the Paia Inn. Come here with one or two people and pick a few dishes to share alongside cocktails.

seafood: PAIA FISH MARKET

Set on the corner of the only intersection in funky, eclectic Paia, the Paia Fish Market has been satisftying seafood cravings since 1989. The popular local spot has a casual vibe, with picnic tables, draft beer, restrooms around the back, and no wait staff.

shaved ice: ULULANI’S

You can’t leave Maui without trying some shaved ice - it’s the favorite treat among locals. There are tons of outposts - our favorite is Ululani’s, available at five locations on Maui ( Lahaina, Kihei, Kahului, Hyatt Regency, Maui Lani).

SEE + DO

TENNIS

Self explanatory! The courts are a few minutes driving from the resort - you can set up a lesson or reserve a court to play together.

SPA

In addition to the spa, the Montage has weekly fitness classes (yoga, HITT, etc) that you can join in on . For the weekly schedule, ask your concierge at check-in. For the full spa menu, click on the photo above!

GOLF

The Montage provides guests with access to multiple courses, the two main ones are the Plantation Course and the Bay Course (both in Kapalua). Click the image for more information and rates.

SNORKELING*

Have the concierge book a snorkeling outing for your group - most Montage-led excursions include breakfast and lunch, snorkel gear and lessons.

SPORT FISHING

The Montage can arrange a fully equipped fishing boat for you your friends. Private excursions for four to eight hour tours are available - if you find it too pricey, I can find a local service!

CATAMARAN*

For scenic ocean snorkel or an evening sunset experience, you can have the concierge arrange a catamaran excursion - apps & open bar included.

GUIDED HIKES

Every weekday (except mondays), the Montage hosts guided hikes to nearby tidepools, the inland hillside, and along coastal trails. Click the image for more info!

HELI TOURS

Fly over the well-known Haleakala Crater, the rainforests of Hana, the West Maui Mountains, and the island’s tallest waterfall. Click the image for more information.

ZIPLINE

Multiple times per day, the hotel offers zipline experiences in both Kapalua and Ka’anapali, where you can enjoy panoramic views of three islands as well as tropical forests, native pineapple fields and waterfalls.

FOOD TOURS*

There are tons of great local farms, breweries, and distilleries in Maui. Definitely take a morning or afternoon to visit one of the following: Ali’i Kula Lavender Farm, Surfing Goat Dairy, Maui Brewing Company, Ocean Vodka Organic Farm and Distillery, Maui’s Winery – Tedeschi Vineyards.

HORSEBACKRIDING

Take a ride through pineapple fields and Ironwood trees with dramatic scenery of West Maui, Moloka’i and Lana’i. Horseback rides are available for both the novice rider and experienced horseman.

ROAD TO HANA*

Take the scenic and windy Road to Hana, best known for viewing waterfalls, hiking trails and beautiful beaches. At the end of the road are the Seven Sacred Pools - google it :) The hotel can arrange, or you rent a car and do it on your own!

HALEAKALA BIKING

Rent some biking gear & do a self-guided trip, or have the bike rental company give you ride to the summit of Haleakala (10,000-plus feet) and then take you to the starting point outside of Haleakala National Park. From there, you zoom down 23 miles of Maui switchbacks to sea level.

PAIA

Paia is an old sugar cane plantation village on Maui’s North Shore that dates back to the 1870’s (it serves as the kickoff point on the Road to Hana). It’s one of those quintessentially Hawaiian surf towns where the beaches are the main attraction: While Ho’okipa beach is where you want to be to watch the local surfers tackle the famously fat swells, Baldwin beach is best if you plan on getting in the water (the surf is mild). Town is great for lunch (or a shaved ice / iced coffee) and some light window shopping.

‘IAO VALLEY

Iao Valley is an amazing natural ladnmark set in a lush, stream-cut valley in West Maui, Hawaii. Spend a morning or afternoon hiking here - the concierge would be happy to get you to/fromo the park entrance :)
