PARIS

LE SAINT

Le Saint is a great local spot, with a residential sort of coziness. A small gym, spa, and hammam are a nice surprise for the Parisian hotel of this size. So too is the hotel restaurant, which is as much a neighborhood fixture as it is a service for guests, which means Le Saint feels like an authentic part of the city. ~$380/night.

Ahl Collective friends + family will receive a complimentary upgrade (subject to avail.), welcome wine or cocktails, a personal shopper service at Bon Marche (one hour, valued at 75€), and early check-in :)

RELAIS CHRISTINE

Quintessentially French, Relais Christine is hidden away in a quiet cobbled courtyard in Saint-Germain-des-Prés (close to the Louvre and Notre Dame). Rooms overlook gardens, courtyards or a quiet private street, and some of the suites come with private garden terraces. Downstairs is the Spa Guerlain, complete with a Finnish sauna and a well-equipped fitness center. And while there’s no restaurant, the St. Germain district is full of some of the best cafes in town. *This is my favorite property in Paris :) ~$380/night.

GRAND POWERS

Grand Powers is located in the Golden Triangle (as Parisian neighborhoods go, it doesn’t get much swankier). There’s no shortage of upscale hotels here, but the the Twenties-vintage Hotel Powers has drawn some attention as it has recently reopened. In addition to the beautiful rooms and suites, the hotel features a spa (complete with massage, hammam, a sauna, and a Jacuzzi), a fitness center, and great restaurant. ~$450/night.

TEAU DE FONSCOLOMBE

Château Fonscolombe only became a hotel in 2017, after three centuries as a private estate. Its setting, just to the north of Aix-en-Provence, endears it to wine lovers, as does the Fonscolombe winery itself, which produces organic reds, whites, and rosés. One of the best things about any chateau is the opportunity to wander acres and acres of grounds, and that’s certainly the case here. Just be close by at mealtimes: L’Orangerie, the indoor-outdoor restaurant, is spectacular, and serves a refined and inventive Provençal cuisine along with some extraordinary wines, some of them as local as can be. ~$300/night.

Ahl Collective friends + family will receive a complimentary upgrade (subject to avail.), daily breakfast for 2, a bottle of wine, and late check-out :)

LA BASTIDE DE MARIE

La Bastide de Marie is a charming 12-room inn coaxed out of a centuries-old farmhouse in Ménerbes, 24 miles east of Avignon. La Bastide is set on a 37-acre parcel of the owner’s vineyard, Domaine de Marie, which produces promising red, white, and rosé Côtes du Lubéron. An elegant restaurant with a sunroom and a terrace serves traditional cuisine (including a complimentary daily breakfast). Other amenities include a spa, 2 outdoor pools and gardens, as well as a cozy lounge with a fireplace.

$350/night

LA BASTIDE DE MOUSTIERS

Before it became a thirteen-room inn, La Bastide de Moustiers was chef Alain Ducasse’s home in the country, a 17th-century stone house in a field of lavender dotted with olive trees. It still feels homey and tranquil — only now the rooms have been freshened up and the garden and restaurant have been given the sort of attention you’d expect at a Provençal inn run by one of the great French chefs of our time. In short, it’s a fine rustic hotel set in a particularly privileged corner of southern France, and a foodie’s dream. ~$350/night

FS GRAND HÔTEL DU CAP-FERRAT

The Grand Hotel du Cap-Ferrat is one of the iconic grand dames of Europe. Set within 17 acres of landscaped grounds, the hotel looks down upon the Mediterranean Sea from its clifftop position. The recent collaboration between Lalique, the venerable glassmaker, and Lafaurie-Peyraguey, the Sauternes winery that’s now owned by the Lalique Group’s chairman, is a unique one. With just thirteen suites, it’s modestly sized, but in terms of luxury, its ambitions are sky-high. Lafaurie Peyraguey the first premier cru winery to open its doors to overnight guests, and as you might expect, they take their food and drink seriously here. Chef Jérôme Schilling, who earned two Michelin stars at another Lalique property, presides over the restaurant whose inventive menu is tailored to the estate’s sweet Sauternes wine. ~$300/night.
